The movie is about Ganesh (Vishal), who appears from Madurai to maintain his medical course in Chennai. A group of baddies is in pursuit. Meanwhile, Srimathy (Reema Sen), a descendant of Ganesh's teacher, wants to meet him and thank him for helping her escape from the clutches of some vile details. When Ganesh and Srimathy meet they are mistaken, for they know each other. The convicts, on finding both, vow to kill them. Why? Well, it is a flashback time. Eswari (Shreya Reddy) is a quarrelsome, arrogant 'kattapanchayat' woman. She lends money at usurious rates and then goes after those children who fail to repay. Srimati's line falls afoul of Eswari. Ganesh helps Srimathy's folks. Eswari falls for Ganesh's heart and courage: She needs him to marry her. But the hero doesn't. She ends up seizure Ganesh's parents and threatens Ganesh to come to them and partner her. However, Ganesh checks all her plans. Finally, in a freak mishap, Eswari meets her fate. Missing Ganesh to be the reason for their sister's death, Eswari's relatives Periya Karuppu (Manoj K Jayan) and Veerasamy (Vijayan) wish to kill him. Ganesh, who drives Chennai for safety, is definitely required to go back to his old ways to fight the baddies and restore order.
