Gopanna marries his cousin Kamala following a minor dispute with their parents. Soon after the marriage, he is appointed as Tehsildar of Husnabad by Tanisha, the dictator of Golconda. In order to appoint Gopanna the Tehsildar, a Muslim who was earlier holding the position is dismissed. This leads to anger that ignites groups ready to kill Gopanna.
